Critical Software wins International Entrepreneurship Award
Critical receives the award at the "I Gala of Entrepreneurship in Science and Technology"
2 Dec 2011
Critical Software - an expert company in providing dependable solutions, services and technologies for business critical information systems - won the International Entrepreneurship Award, promoted by TecParques - Portuguese Association of Science and Technology Parks, with the goal of recognizing entrepreneurship in Portugal.
The award was handed out yesterday at the "I Gala of Entrepreneurship in Science and Technology", with the presence of António Almeida Henriques - Undersecretary of State for the Economy and Regional Development of Portugal. The distinction recognizes the internationalization of the company and the ability it has shown in the creation of high skills, qualified jobs and value for its clients with international markets.
"The year that is now ending will be marked by financial results that tell of the steep growth that Critical Software has had in international markets. This success is due to the company's focus on quality and technological innovation as agents that are responsible for the introduction of competitive advantages in business and information systems. By working closely with target markets, Critical assures that its clients' critical processes and systems are based on solutions where reliability is omnipresent. In practice, this leads to solutions developed on-time, on-budget and on-quality and a solid portfolio of clients at the international level," highlights Gonçalo Quadros, Executive Chairman of Critical Software.
The internationalization of Critical Software: a story of success
Critical's internationalization process began when the company was created, in 1998. That same year, the three co-founders of Critical worked on a project that had the ability of introducing failures in a system that NASA was testing for its missions, which allowed the anticipation of possible failures before they happened. At the time, Critical Software decided to open its subsidiary in the USA, beginning its internationalization then and there. The physical presence in other countries extended to the United Kingdom, Brazil and Mozambique, although Critical's business geography is spread throughout all five continents.
"Critical Software is present in demanding markets that value good computer engineering solutions. We want to be a reference in the markets that demand added value software engineering," adds Gonçalo Quadros.
